Christian J. Charette

Have him on

Christian is a good guest for the same reason he is a good clinician. He does not perform expertise from altitude, he says the thing plainly, and he is comfortable being asked a question he has to think about on air.

Subjects

What he can carry an hour on

Send him somewhere he has not been asked before and he will go there. These are the reliable starting points.

Why couples therapy fails, and what the research actually says about repair

The map is not the territory, as an idea that reaches well past relationships

Attachment, survival strategies, and the childhood logic still running the adult

What five thousand people across a room teaches you about love

Running anger management groups for men the courts sent, and what it changed

Building a clinical framework when the existing ones do not talk to each other

Previously

Where he has been

A short list on purpose. Christian spent those years in the room rather than in front of a microphone. That is changing as the book comes together, and early shows get an easy yes.

Bio, 75 words

Christian J. Charette is a licensed marriage and family therapist, writer, and speaker who works at the intersection of clinical practice, integrative psychology, and the question of how we know what we know about other people. Over twenty years and more than 5,000 clients, he watched couples grow fluent in the language of healing while staying stuck in the patterns it described. His forthcoming book, The Map Is Not the Territory, is the framework he built in response.
